2017 The Bishop

The 2017 The Bishop Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple in color with effusive aromas of mountain fruit compote, crushed gravel, hints of 5-spice, and black pepper. The palate is massive in structure, yet the tannins are fine-grained and balanced through the long finish.

Appellation: Napa Valley
Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

91-94 Points — Vinous Media

“The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bishop is dark and powerful, but also has terrific freshness and nuance from the pine, mint and sage overtones that develop in the glass to play off the red-toned fruits. The Bishop is a blend of barrels built around a core of top mountain sites in this portfolio, including Rainin, Sage Ridge and Montagna.”

92-94+ Points — The Wine Advocate

“A barrel sample, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bishop is deep garnet-purple colored and opens a little shy with mocha, stewed plums and baked black berries followed by sautéed herbs, underbrush, warm cassis and mulberries with a waft of fragrant earth. The palate is full-bodied, firm, chewy and a little closed and tight knit in the mouth with a firm, grippy finish. Will need time!”
